Did you know recycling is mandatory in Polk Township?
Polk Township residents can purchase a Solid Waste Permit. You will be required to show proof that you live in the Township.
Disposal of three thirty gallon garbage bags per week and unlimited recycling are included in the permit fee. Additional bags are additional. Permits are available to purchase at the township building. Please bring your car registration with you when purchasing a permit so we can validate the vehicle you will be using and your address.
Renewal permit sales will begin on March 1 and end on April 15.
Bulk items and extra bags must be pre-paid in the Municipal Office prior to dropping off at the facility.
The recycle and solid waste center cannot open until the area is safe for foot traffic. If the center is closed, there is NO FEE to bring extra garbage the next time you come to the center. If there is inclement weather, please call the Township first.
Located at 183 Commerical Blvd., Blakeslee, PA 18610. The Waste Authority can be used by Monroe County residents for recycling. They do accept TV's, monitors, tires, and light bulbs.
